First and foremost, if you are sick, stay home. It is vital that you do not come in with any of the following symptoms:  Fever, cough, difficulty breathing (shortness of breath), sore throat, congestion, loss of sense of smell and taste, stomach aches, major fatigue, significant loss of appetite, general muscle pain, headaches, vomiting, diarrhea.

It is critical that we all follow this for the health and safety of others.

We must all abide by the following general considerations.

COMING IN WITH SYMPTOMS:

1.       We cannot assume our symptoms are not COVID.

2.       We have an obligation to each other and ourselves to be honest.

3.       Coming in with symptoms or not isolating will have consequences such as; school closures, and/or disciplinary action. Ignoring these protocols, you are putting others at risk. If you have any symptoms, you will be sent home immediately.

4.       Be aware that infecting an unvaccinated or immune compromised staff or student can be fatal.

5.       Be advised that should you come to the centre with symptoms you will be sent home immediately

For symptoms please follow steps under the table above this one.

MASK WEARING:

1.       Masks are worn BEFORE YOU ENTER THE CENTRE. You will be denied entry if you are not properly wearing a mask.

2.       Masks are ALWAYS ON. Omicron can remain in the air for up to 4 hours.

3.       Everyone must maintain 2 meters distances from each other, even when eating.

4.       Your mask is to be worn properly (over your nose, pinched over the bridge of your nose, under your chin).

5.      Failure to abide by the mask protocols, you will be sent home and will have to contact Centre Director Scott Cavers scottcavers@wqsb.qc.ca about your return.

SOCIAL DISTANCING:

1.       Where possible maintain a minimum of 2 metres social distancing from each other when in the centre.

a.       Avoid situations situations where it is difficult to maintain 2 metres distancing

Land Acknowledgement

We acknowledge that we are located on the unceded, unsurrendered traditional, ancestral, and enduring territories of the Anishinàbe Algonquin and Cree Peoples. These Nations have lived on, cared for, and stewarded these lands since time immemorial. We express our deepest gratitude and respect to the Algonquin and Cree Peoples, whose enduring relationship with the land continues to shape and enrich these territories for present and future generations.

As an educational institution, we recognize the historical and ongoing impacts of colonization on Indigenous Peoples and are committed to learning from the past. We strive to foster understanding, healing, and resilience through meaningful partnerships with Algonquin and Cree Nations, as well as with First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples, in the spirit of truth, respect, and reconciliation.

We understand that land acknowledgements are only one step toward meaningful reconciliation. We therefore commit to supporting these words through ongoing action, relationship-building, and a dedication to creating inclusive, respectful, and equitable communities for all.
